Christophe Lafontant Fort Lee, NJ, Obituary, Death: Christophe Lafontant, a beacon of strength, compassion, and resilience, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at the age of 41. A beloved son, brother, godfather, uncle, cousin, and friend, Chris leaves behind a legacy defined not by the challenges he faced, but by the extraordinary way he met them—with courage, humor, and unwavering hope.
Born on July 13, 1983, Chris’s life was marked early by a diagnosis of heart failure at just six years old. This was followed by a diagnosis of myofibrillar myopathy, a rare genetic neuromuscular disorder. Despite enduring more than most could imagine—two heart transplants, a kidney transplant, respiratory failure, a tracheostomy, and progressive muscle weakness—Chris chose to define his life not by his illness, but by his passion to live fully and help others.
Chris became a powerful voice in the rare disease community. Through his advocacy, fundraising, and storytelling, he gave voice and visibility to those living with myofibrillar myopathy. His memoir, 1 Man, 3 Hearts, 9 Lives, chronicled his journey of survival, resilience, and the search for meaning in the face of adversity. His documentary, It Started with the Heart, co-produced by Sugar Beach Digital, further amplified his story, touching hearts and inspiring audiences around the world.
Known online as “1 Man 3 Hearts,” Chris cultivated a vibrant and uplifting social media presence. He built a supportive community he lovingly called the “Heart Train,” where thousands found encouragement, inspiration, and connection through his words and videos.
Above all, Chris lived with joy. He found beauty in life’s smallest moments and believed deeply in the power of love, laughter, and perseverance. His unbreakable spirit will forever be remembered by those who knew him and those who were moved by his story.
Chris is survived by his loving family: his mother, Jennifer, and her partner, Mitch; his father, Claude, and his wife, Natalia; his brothers, John (Gita), Claude (Tara), and Fabien; his sister, Isabelle (Joe); and his cherished nieces and nephews, Leo, Dominic, Aleks, Vanessa, Juliette, and Cora. He also leaves behind his loyal dog and constant companion, Paris.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 4–8 PM at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 9 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 211 Summit Street, Norwood, NJ, followed by interment at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY.
